One of the rarer Vintage Bottles from the Old Midleton Distillery A Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey distilled in the old  Midleton distillery in 1973. The whiskey is made up of malted and unmalted (green) barley, matured for 26 years in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso butts, it has then been finished for a few months in specially chosen port pipes. It was released as a limited edition to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the Midleton Distillery, 1825-2000. A 28-Year-old Single pot still Bottling that is a comprised of 4 different Casks Single Port Still distilled in 1989, matured in ex-bourbon and re casked into a Ruby Port cask in 1995 Single Pot Still distilled in 1991 and matured in second-fill ex-bourbon Single Pot Still distilled in 1991 and matured in second-fill ex-bourbon Single Pot Still distilled in 1991, matured in ex-bourbon, and re-casked in 2011 into a Sherry butt. The four components were then married together in that Original Ruby Port cask for an additional 105 days. The End Result is that we have a whiskey with plenty of flavour bursting through with the influence of the fortified wine. The ballot for this annual release has attracted buyers from all over the world and was many times oversubscribed. After a successful collaboration in 2015, in which Captain Lawrence Brewing Co. borrowed Jameson barrels to age their beer for eight weeks, the barrels were returned to the distillery in Midleton.
