A Sikes Hydrometer made by Sikes UK and sold by Dixon & Hempenstall in Dublin.
Dixon & Hempenstall have been in business in Dublin since 1908. These Hydrometers have been the measuring instrument as used by Irish Revenue and Customs for measuring the ABV of Alcohol and were the standard instrument in both Ireland and the UK.
The hydrometer comes in a wooden presentation box with the Details in an inlaid piece on the top of the box.
1 of the small reference weights is missing but otherwise in excellent condition given its age.
also included is the thermometer which is usually missing from these sets.
